i’ve reblogged this before and i’ll do it again

this was supposed to be short but then it wasn’t oops

honestly just like…set me up with a nice-ish little pop-up camper and a budget-friendly car, if such things exist, and i’ll find a way to move up to a full-on house. i may be old, gray, and wrinkly by the time i can finally have a solid place, but at least i’ll have stayed out of the weather and out of the monumental debt of homeownership straight out of schooling

money saved: thousands of dollars in total, probably hundreds of thousands, as campers don’t seem to get much more expensive than 1000, meanwhile houses GOOD GRAVY ON A HOT POTATO! Still gonna have to wait a few years from starting a job to get one, but at least that’ll be that instead of haunting me for decades.

as long as i can get power for my phone, i can draw for people. i’m looking into ways to get my own energy for that. as long as i can afford gas, i can just kinda chill near my workplace, and if i change jobs, i can drive over there and just live nearby. it’s not like i’d have any physical mail, and if i did, i’d have a PO box and just check it when I knew a bill was coming.

money spent: not nearly what I’d spend in mortgage bills every month. (probably 10 bucks or less in monthly PO box rent, a one-time fee for renewable energy things i can get, then my power is mine :D)

People my parents’ age (borderline 50 years old) and older probably think this sounds like either a trailer park waiting to happen, a hippie van waiting to happen, or both.

I say it’s a way to live my life without having monstrous debt hanging over my head or the elements tearing me down. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
